Who invented Blockchain technology

How blockchain started

by movard » Thu Mar 27, 2025 1:04 pm

How It Started:
2008: Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin whitepaper, outlining how blockchain could securely record transactions without a central authority.

2009: Bitcoin was officially launched, and the first block (called the Genesis Block) was mined.

Why Blockchain Was Invented:
To solve the double-spending problem in digital currencies.

To create a transparent and decentralized system where transactions are secure, immutable, and verifiable without middlemen (like banks).

Although Satoshi Nakamoto is credited with the invention of blockchain, the concept of a cryptographically secured chain of blocks was first described in 1991 by Stuart Haber and W. Scott Stornetta, who aimed to create a system for timestamping digital documents. However, Satoshi combined and expanded on these ideas to create what we now know as blockchain.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s true identity remains unknown to this day.
